Richard Harris’ great satirical comedy, ‘Outside Edge’.
Harris wrote the play at the end of the 1970’s and is set in a cricket club in one of the scruffier corners of suburban Surrey.
Here the summer weekend drama of leather on willow is played out by a diverse cast of would be Ben Stokes and their long suffering wives and partners. Despite Captain Roger’s best boy scout efforts to inspire and organize his team, things inevitably fall apart and to great comic effect.
For this production director Jay Moore is updating the play to a date much closer to our own, sharpening the comedy and the satirical effect.
