Jack and his Thumping Great Stalk
Sun 26 OctIt’s Panto for older boys and girls, but not as you know it, as we recreate a night of naughty humour around the traditional story. With adult language and themes to make even Boris Johnson blush. This will be the most unique night of adult panto ever!
How will Jack and his mother make ends meet? Especially now the heating allowance has gone. How much will Jack miss milking his old cow? (Daisy, not his mother). Why is Jack using Viagra for his sunburn? Why is his Mother staring at his big stalk? And can Jack find a virgin in Bideford?
Who will be safe from our humour – no one! If easily offended then this is not for you.
Join us, as we throw the woke bible out the window for one night and we all join together to laugh with each other and at each other – as laughter crosses all divides.
See us present this production in a vintage way that you will love, with us making all the sound effects in front of your ears and eyes.
How will we make the sound of a stalk getting bigger?
How will we make the sound of a cow being milked?
Upclose Theatre has been producing plays and theatre for over 10 years and we have done things in ways that others may not. We are a community group that has toured Devon, Cornwall and even Somerset, with a London tour in the planning. We have visited in excess of 40 different venues. These include the Landmark, The Queens Theatre, The Barnfield and a sell out at the Northcott Theatre, Exeter.
Our productions include Brassed Off, Frankenstein, Yes Prime Minister, Jeeves and Wooster, Breaking The Code, ART and A Christmas Carol on stage, as well doing a radio recording for The Voice.
Upclose even runs a local online radio station for community members to present local shows.
We are so pleased to be back at the Queens Theatre.
Again, if you don’t like bad language or naughty, suggestive and cheeky jokes and you get easily offended, then this show is not for you!! Be warned!! advised age 18 plus.
